The difference in surroundings at a boulder crag somewhere in the forest, and at the newly build world cup venue in Zürich is rather daunting. Climbing and bouldering has definitely taken the step up to a serious competition sport.
It was so great having friends come down and visit me in Konstanz. We spent most the time chasing snow and sun all around the Alps, and I don't think we could have been luckier with weather and conditions!
The last weekend before the semester started couldn't have been a better way to finish of the holiday. I've never been to Chamonix so when the weather forecast showed a big sun for the weekend it wasn't hard to get up early and drive the scenic three and a half hours from Konstanz.
