This year I suddenly ended up with an over two month long winter holiday. Which suits a winter person like me just perfect, and made possible three weeks of skiing in Canada.
My friend Pete, who I've studied with in Oslo, and his girlfriend Katie, who I skied with last year in Colorado had rented a house in Nelson, British Colombia. Nelson has only about 10 000 inhabitants, but is an amazingly happening place. Two big outdoor stores, great cafees, a brewery, climbing gym, great pubs for watching hockey games and a whole lot more including art galleries, a college and a theater. Our skiing was based mainly out of the local ski hill, White Water. It only has two small double chair lifts, but it gives you access to incredible amounts of backcountry. With my heavy K2 Darksides with Duke bindings I had a though couple of days getting used to skin around all day, but it was definitively worth it on the down.
I also tried to film a little for the first time. The widescreen clips are shot with a Canon 7D DSLR and the rest with a Go Pro Helmet Hero cam. Off course the camera didn't come out or lacked battery or memory card on the really good days and runs:)
